Effective Speaking

Effective speaking give you the opportunity to work on your public speaking skills. This national competition is sponsored by the Air Cadet League of Canada and is open to all cadets. This year, 2017, Cadets who succeed in provincials will be attending nationals in Winnipeg. 

2017 Topics

  • The 150th Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation
  • Why the Air Cadet Program is important to Canada
  • Canada’s changing role as a peace-keeper
  • Drones – progress or threat?
  • Environmental stewardship of Canada’s waters.
  • Women in Aero-space
  • How do you balance your Cadet career with the rest of your life?
  • How did Vimy Ridge contribute to Canada’s recognition as a nation?

Prepared Speach

Your prepared speech should be at least 5 minutes but no more than 6, on one of the above topics.

Impromptu Speech

Cadets will be given a topic and then will present a two minute, not more than three minute, speech.
